all the world’s a stage
Say what you want about the guy, but boy, oh boy, did Willy Shakes knock it out of the park with that one. Theatre has always been a great love of mine - I’ve been performing publicly since the age of six, and privately since the womb - so it was only natural that my loves would combine into a passion for scriptwriting. Prose is my ride or die, but there’s something about live theatre that is simply unbeatable for capturing the human spirit in written and physical form. I’m currently working on a bunch of play ideas and eventually I’d love to tackle a musical (manifesting), but, for now, please enjoy this selection of short plays from across the years. More to come, I’m sure x
Wrath of the Tuna Queen
A silly one here - for a university theatre group we had to devise scripts from old shows that had to be put on, and this was the script I put together for it about a dystopian supermarket and the monarchs who ruled over the different sections. Lots of fish puns - very stupid vibes.
In the Eye of the Beholder
A short script retelling the myth of Medusa. One of my favourites that I’ve done - I’m a huge fan of ancient mythology, and I’m a huge fan of lesbians, so this was kind of a match made in heaven really.
Expensive Cocktails
Two exes meet up after years of separation to catch up over drinks. Initially wrote this as part of a month-long playwriting challenge, and was a great exercise for practising dialogue and character work. Also, gay.
Snow in July
One of my earlier scripts I wrote that I was pretty happy with. A man and wife reminisce together on memories they’ve had over the years, but something seems amiss between them.
